SHERRILL >> Hazel Acee Burns, age 92, formerly of Gordon Avenue, and more recently of the Lutheran Care passed away peacefully early Tuesday evening, April 15, 2014 at the facility.
She was born Sept. 12, 1921 in Clark Mills, N.Y. a daughter of the late Moses and Rose (Sheehan) Acee and attended Clark Mills Schools.
On July 10, 1965 Hazel and John E. Burns Jr. were united in marriage in the Church of Annunciation of Clark Mills and the couple shared a loving union until Mr. Burn's death on Oct. 1, 1991.
Prior to her retirement she was employed with the Oneida Limited Silversmiths.
Later in life Hazel and her husband John made a yearly trip to Virginia Beach to meet with friends and celebrate her birthday; a trip she looked forward to and enjoyed immensely. In her spare time she enjoyed bowling, swimming, golfing with John, cooking and baking. She will be remembered as a very generous, kind and loving person.
She was a member of St. Helena's Church of Sherrill and sang in their choir.
Surviving are several sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and friends.
In keeping with Hazel's wishes there will be no calling hours. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 11 a.m. in St. Helena's Church, Primo Avenue, Sherrill, N.Y.
