DURHAMVILLE >> Kenneth J. Eddy, 69, State Route 46, died Wednesday, April 16, 2014, in St. Joseph's Hospital, Syracuse, where he was a medical patient for the past three weeks.
Born in Oneida, on Feb. 28, 1945, he was a son of the late Roger M. and Eleanor Mac Donald Eddy. A lifelong resident of this area, Ken was a graduate of Vernon-Verona-Sherrill High School, Class of 1963.
Prior to his retirement, Ken was a long time tractor trailer driver with CT Express and later with Night Hawk Transport. He was of the Methodist faith and enjoyed old cars and trucks and boating.
Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Christopher K. and Brittany Eddy of Oneida; his daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Derik Bielby of Southern Pines, N.C.; his brother and two sisters-in-law, David B. and Millie Eddy of Durhamville and Amy Eddy of Baldwinsville; two granddaughters, Madyson Bielby and Isabella Eddy; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Bruce R. Eddy, on Oct. 8, 2012.
Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m., Saturday, April 19, from the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc., 260 Main St., Oneida, with the Rev. Susan Selden, officiating. Interment will be made in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home, 4-8 p.m., Friday. Contributions, in his memory, may be made to the Francis House, 108 Michaels Ave., Syracuse, N.Y. 13208 or the Durhamville Fire Department, 5305 Church St., Durhamville, N.Y. 13054.
