Diana L. Phillips, 45, passed away on Friday morning, May 16, 2014 in Upstate University Hospital where she had been a patient for the past month.
Born in Syracuse, on March 18, 1969 she was the daughter of John and Diana Holley Phillips, Sr. A lifelong resident of the Central New York area, Diana was a graduate of Oneida High School, Class of 1988. She acquired her certification as a nursing assistant at the Extended Care Facility.
Diana was employed with Denny's Restaurant. She loved camping, nature, animals, and especially feeding Canadian geese. She was an incredibly caring woman whose favorite times were spent with her family and the many children she treated as her own.
Diana is survived by her son, Michael G. Phillips; her mother, Diana Phillips of East Syracuse; one sister, Nancy Phillips and her fiancé, Tim Pryor of East Syracuse; two brothers, Donald Mattice and his fiancé, Cherie Armstrong of Syracuse and Richard Phillips; several nieces, nephews, and several great nieces and great nephews. She was predeceased by her father, John Phillips, Sr. and two brothers, Richard Phillips and Jay Phillips, Jr.
