VERONA >> Bradley A. Grabow, 72, of Spring Road, Verona, passed away Monday, June 2, at his home, surrounded by his loving family and close friends, after a 15 month battle with cancer.
Born in Camden on July 18, 1941 he was a son of Chris and Nettie Bartlett Grabow. He was a lifelong resident of the area, having lived in Verona since 1976. Brad graduated from Stockbridge Valley Central School, Class of 1959. He married Sandra Looft in Stockbridge on Sept. 17, 1966.
Brad worked for C&O Contractors Inc. for many years and later for Carl Mundy and Northeast Petroleum. He served in the National Guard for six years and also farmed in Verona from 1976 to 1986. Mr. Grabow was a lifetime member of the Verona Fire Department and a member of the Ford V-8 Club Local 59, the Central New York Tractor Club, the Central New York Snowmobile Club, and Men's Thursday Morning Coffee Club. He restored gas pumps and air meters and enjoyed camping with close friends. Bradley will be remembered by many for his jokes.
Surviving besides his wife, Sandra, are his mother, Nettie of Sherrill; his son, David Bradley Grabow and companion, Holly Sykes of Verona; his daughter and son-in-law, Lisa A. and Steven Brown and their son, his grandson who was his pride and joy, Logan Bradley Brown of Munnsville; two sisters, Patricia Grabow of Concord, Calif., and Christine Durant and her companion, Mark Davis of Oneida; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Christian H. and Patricia Grabow of Oneida and Barry G. and Susan Grabow of Verona Beach; close friends Bev and Ernie Judd, and many other dear friends.
He is predeceased by his father, Chris Grabow, in 1968.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. from the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home Inc., 260 Main St., Oneida, with the Rev. Susan Walters officiating. Interment will be made in Verona Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3-7 p.m., Friday.
