VERNON >> John W. Kenyon, age 76, of Van Epps Street passed away early Thursday morning June 12, 2014 in the Oneida Healthcare Center after being stricken at home.
He was born on June 14, 1937 in Sherrill, N.Y. a son of the late Raymond and Ruby (Turner) Kenyon and attended Camden Schools.
After school he enlisted in the United States Army and served his country from 1955-1958.
On Aug. 6, 1971 John and Nancy Way were united in marriage in Sherrill, and have shared a loving union for over 42 years together.
Prior to his retirement in 1999 John was employed as a truck driver for Oneida Limited Silversmith.
In his spare time he enjoyed, fishing, hunting, his dogs and cherishing time with family and friends.
Surviving is his wife, Nancy W. Kenyon of Vernon; three sons, Peter Kenyon of Ashtabula, Ohio, Paul (Lee Ann) Kenyon of Brooklet, Ga. and John (Kelly) Kenyon of Cynthiana, Ky.; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Thomas Kenyon of Boonville; one sister Joan Morgan of Oneida and several nieces and nephews.
John was predeceased one brother Raymond Kenyon Jr. and one grandson Brett Kenyon.
Family and friends are invited to call on Monday from noon to 2 p.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., 23 Front St., Vernon. John's funeral service will be held immediately following calling hours at 2 p.m. the funeral home. Burial with military honors will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Vernon, N.Y.
