SOLSVILLE >> Robert N. Livingston, Sr., 75, passed away on June 15, 2014, after a long illness.
He was born June 7, 1939, in Afton, the son of the late Austin and Norma Livingston. Robert was self-employed, first as a self-employed farmer, and later he worked as a self-employed logger for various logging companies. He had also spent several years as a
for the Bainbridge Police Department. Robert had several hobbies and interests which included camping, fishing, hunting, and playing shuffleboard. He was a devoted fan to NASCAR and the NY Yankees. He enjoyed taking care of his vegetable garden. Robert was a member of the Sons of the American Legion, Post 54, of Munnsville.
Robert is survived by significant other, Joan Cook, of Solsville; his eldest son, Robert N. Livingston, Jr., and his spouse, Peg Brewster, of New Hampshire; his daughter, Cheryl McDaniels, and her spouse, Richard, of Johnson City; his son, Scott Livingston, and his spouse, Sandra, of Chenango Forks; and his sister, Erma Sherman of Washington. He also leaves behind several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, and close friends.
Robert was predeceased by his son Kelly Livingston in 2012.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2014, at 1 p.m., at the Lenox Rural Cemetery, Nelson Road, Canastota, with the Rev. Terry Ramsey, pastor of the Madison Baptist Church, officiating. In keeping with Robert's wishes, there are no calling hours. Following the burial service, a "Celebration of Robert's Life" will be held at the Munnsville Legion Post 54. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Paul Funeral Home of Madison.
