SHERRILL >> Thelma M. Spraker, 95, formerly of 211 Allen St., died Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014, in the Presbyterian Home of Central New York, New Hartford, where she had resided since June of 2010.
Born in Oneida, on Aug. 11, 1918, she was a daughter of Harvey G. and Rose Simmons Spraker. Raised and educated in Oneida, Thelma was a graduate of Oneida High School and had resided in Sherrill for over 30 years.
Prior to her retirement, with 42 years of service, Ms. Spraker was employed with Oneida Limited, Silversmiths. She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of Oneida and a member of the former Oneida Limited Retirement Club.
Surviving are her nephew and his wife, the Rev. Gary E. and Sherie Spraker of Canastota; her sister-in-law, Virginia Spraker of Oneida; her late nephew's wife, Jill Burns of Albany; and six great nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother, Donald E. Spraker who died on Nov. 18, 1984; her sister, Dorothy Burns who died on Dec. 11, 2002; and her nephew, Michael Burns.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, 1 p.m. at the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc., 260 Main St., Oneida, with her nephew, the Rev. Gary E. Spraker, pastor of Stockbridge United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Valley View Cemetery. Friends may call at the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc., 260 Main St., Oneida, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday prior to service. Contributions, in her memory, may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Oneida, Main and Grove Streets.
