John Magliocca, at the age of 84 of 3208 New Boston St., died Saturday, June 30, 2012 at the Oneida Healthcare following a brief illness.

He was born June 19, 1928 in Oneida, a son of Christopher and Filomena Carulla Magliocca. He attended Oneida school.
John was formerly employed at Colgate University in the security department for several years retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus council 473 in Oneida, a communicant of St. Agatha's Church in Canastota and was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Army Air Corp where he was stationed in Guam. John was a former resident of Oneida for nearly 60 years before moving to Canastota.
Surviving are his wife, Audrey Blake Magliocca at home; one son, Garry Magliocca of Berry, Ky.; four daughters, Elizabeth (Timothy) Williams of Yorktown, Va., Gail Croth of Rapid City, S.D., Gina Janes of Oneida and Mercedes Ahearn of Dacula, Ga.; one brother, James B. Magliocca of Callawy, Va.; two sisters, Rose (Rod) Simele of Harmony, N.C., and Jeanette Sikkas of Niagara Falls; seven granddaughters; three grandsons and great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sisters, Lena, Mary and Catherine Magliocca and three brothers, Carmen, Anthony and Chris.
A memorial funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Agatha's Church, Canastota on Friday, Aug. 3, 2012 at a time to be announced. Burial will be made in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Oneida. There are no calling hours, but friends are invited to attend the church service.
