NEW LONDON - Edward E. S. Perry, 84, of New London passed away Monday, Nov. 26, 2012 in Bethany Gardens Rehabilitation Center with his loving family by his side. He was born Jan. 28, 1928 in Clarendon, N.Y., a son of Edward S. and Francis Smith Perry. He attended Rome schools. On Oct. 15, 1960, he married Marguerite M. Grosjean Kirk. They enjoyed 43 loving years together until her passing Feb. 13, 2003.

Ed worked at Oneida Limited for 40 years before retiring. In retirement, he managed Lewis Point Campgrounds for Oneida Limited for 10 years. He had previously served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Mr. Perry was a Life Member and Past Fire Chief of the New London Volunteer Fire Department. He was also a member of the New London Methodist Church and the C.A.C. of Oneida Limited.
Ed enjoyed playing golf, but most of all he was always there to support his grandchildren at their sporting events. He was a faithful supporter of VVS Pop Warner and VVS High School football.
His family would like to thank the management and staff at Bethany Gardens for their kind and caring help and support.
He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Diana and David Nimmo, of Rome, and Janinne and Fred Lott, of Sherrill; two step-sons, Raymond Alan Kirk and his fiancé, Paula Millson, of Churchville, N.Y., and Daniel Kirk, of Portland, Ore.; three sisters, Mary Conover, of Higginsville, Betty Smith, of Floyd, and Charlotte Martzloff, of Jewel, N.Y.; grandchildren, Angie Wishoff, Terry Kirk, Joe Kirk, Armoun Kirk, Che Kirk, Brian Myers, Amy Myers, Shane (Mollie) Hoehn, Jamie Hoehn; nine great-grandchildren; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Florence and Joseph Mezzatesta, of New Hartford; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Ed was predeceased by his first wife, the former Ann Duff; a sister, Edna Perry Ammon; and a brother, Frank Perry.
Funeral service will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome. Interment will take place in Rathbunnville Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ed's memory may be made to the New London Volunteer Fire Department or the New London Methodist Church.
