ONEIDA >> Arthur R. Chesebro, 68, Liberty Street, died Wednesday morning, Feb. 6, 2013, in the Oneida Healthcare Center, where he had been a patient for the past four days.
Born in Oneida, on Sept. 25, 1944, he was a son of Harold H. and Emma Chesebro. A lifelong resident of Oneida, Art attended Oneida schools. He married Dawn Cummings in Oneida, on Jan. 21, 1998.
For many years, Mr. Chesebro was self-employed as an automotive painter. He was of the Christian faith and Art's world were his granddaughters, Kyra Chesebro, who was his pride and joy and Kaylieh Chesebro, whom he became attached to.
Surviving besides his wife, Dawn, are five daughters, Michelle (Mark) Meadows of Rome, Tammy (Richard) Fargo of Oriskany, Chris Chesebro and William Mondore, Dawn M. Chesebro and Susan M. Chesebro, all of Oneida; four brothers, Frank (Marcelle) Chesebro of Canastota, Rev. James (Barbara) Chesebro of Tulsa, Okla., Ronald Chesebro of Canastota and Thomas (Rose) Chesebro of Blossvale; five sisters, Ruth Congden of Canastota, Georgianna Seamon and Beverly (Joseph) Donlon, all of Oneida and Myrtle Chesebro and Linda Chesebro, both of Rome; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Harry, Harold and William Chesebro and two sisters, Matilda Cronin and Rosalie Ann Chesebro.
The family wishes to thank Oneida Healthcare ICU, Carol and Matt Durant and Larry and Karen Leiss for the care, concern and kindness shown during Art's illness.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Saturday from the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc., 260 Main St., Oneida, with the Rev. Brian Fellows, officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home, 12-2 p.m., Saturday. Contributions, in his memory, may be made to the Chesebro Family Fund, in care of the funeral home.
