Arthur S. Bennett Obituary
ONEIDA >> Arthur S. Bennett, 47, Maple Street, died Monday morning, Nov. 18, 2013, in the Oneida Healthcare Center, shortly after his admission, after suffering an apparent coronary attack at his home.
Born in Oneida, on March 25, 1966, he was a son of Charles and Laura Peter Bennett. A lifelong resident of Oneida, Art was educated in Oneida schools. He married Melody Meacham in Vernon on Aug. 26, 2000.
Art was employed many years with Oneida Limited, Silversmiths and later as a roofer with various companies. He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church and enjoyed mountain biking and his music studio which helped teenagers realize their musical dream.
Surviving besides his wife, Melody, are his mother, Laura Bennett of Oneida; two sons, Cory J. (Ashley) Bennett of Canastota, Daniel S. (Elizabeth) Bennett of Oneida and Evan Gray, who he raised like a son; one grandson, Draven Bennett; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Susan J. and John Schneider of Vernon, Wendy A. Bennett of Oneida, Carol and Sam Madonia of Rome and Lynn M. and Brian Wean of Oneida; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Robert L. and Patricia Bennett and Charles J. Bennett, Jr., all of Oneida; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday, from St. John's Episcopal Church, Oneida, where the Requiem Eucharist will be offered.
