Clarence Cramer Obituary

MUNNSVILLE >> Clarence "Fuzzy" W. Cramer, age 92, of Haslauer Road and recently of the Crouse Community Center passed away in his sleep Thursday afternoon, Nov. 5, 2015 at the nursing facility. He was born on Dec. 21, 1922 in Pratt's Hollow, N.Y. to the late Clarence B. and Muriel (Wagoner) Cramer. He was a graduate of Morrisville High School and also studied pre-veterinary science at Cornell University where he was a member of the ROTC program. At the start of World War II, as an only son, he was sent home to work on the family farm.
On June 15, 1946 Fuzzy was united in marriage to the late Mary (Schlick) Cramer in Stockbridge, N.Y. and the couple shared over 66 loving years together. Mary passed away in 2013.
Fuzzy was a 4-H leader in the local chapter while his children were young and was a board member of Stockbridge Valley Central School. He was a lifelong farmer and owned, with his wife, their registered Holstein dairy farm Crameadows, which was a Dairy of Distinction. After retiring from farming, he and Mary built their retirement home on Haslauer Road with the help of their sons. He was a member of the Munnsville Ruritan and was the oldest member of the Canastota Community Band as an alto saxophone player. His hobbies included carpentry and woodworking and he took great pride in his work. He made many intricate, operational wooden toys during his free time.
Surviving are one daughter, Holly Palmer of Munnsville; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Duane (Deborah) Cramer of Cazenovia and Dwight Cramer of Munnsville; four grandchildren, Jason and Leigh Cramer, Arianna (Dustin) Matt, and Kristoffer Palmer.
Fuzzy was predeceased by his parents, his wife, and two sisters, Louise MacDonald and Lucille Dodge.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2015 from 12:30-1:30 p.m. at Malecki Funeral Home, Inc., 23 Front St., Vernon, followed by a funeral service. A private burial will be held in Stockbridge Cemetery, Stockbridge. Immediately following, there will be a reception for family and friends at 6281 Haslauer Road, Munnsville.
