Fay Nealy

Fay Nealy passed away Monday, March 17, 2014 after a brief illness. She was born February 13, 1924 to the late William I. and Berma B. Timms of Athens, GA.
She was married to the late Frank Nealy. In their early years of marriage they lived in Lake Charles, LA where Frank fell from a tree which paralyzed him and he was confined to a wheel chair for the rest of his life. Fay was a very dedicated and devoted wife taking care of Frank for the next 35 years until his death in 1982. Fay also worked for Shell Oil Co in Lake Charles. They later moved to Jackson, MS where they had a farm for several years. When they moved back home to Georgia they bought a farm in Colbert. Fay went to work as a secretary for Dr. Henry Jack Ford until her retirement.
Fay and Frank loved fishing together. She also enjoyed working in her lovely home and especially her beautiful yard in the Diamond Hill community in Colbert. She was a member of Prince Avenue Baptist Church where she was an active member in the XYZ Class until her health started failing.
Fay is survived by her brother, Bill Timms and wife, Pat of Toccoa, GA; a sister, Sarah Graham of Denver CO; several nieces and nephews, and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her twin sister, Mae Butts of Winterville.
Funeral services will be held 3PM Thursday, March 20th in the chapel at Bernstein Funeral Home with Rev Bill Ricketts officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2-3PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
