Ian Christopher Hodson, 26, of Athens GA passed away in the loving arms of his mother and father on Wednesday, February 5, 2014.
A native of Athens GA, Mr. Hodson was the son of Dr. Diane Hodson and Dr. Robert Hodson. He graduated from Athens Academy in 2007 and attended the University of Georgia
where he was an active member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity, Georgia Beta Chapter.
A seeker after truth, Ian pondered life's great mysteries, and at the same time enjoyed comedy, golf, and spending time with his nephews in Athens and family in Dunwoody, GA. He was adored by his many friends and will always be remembered for his compassion for others, deep sensitivity, keen wit, and energetic spirit.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents. Survivors, in addition to his parents, include a brother, Alexander "Alec" Robert Hodson and his wife Brandi Hodson; nephews, Simon Hodson, Tyler Self, and Charlie Hodson, of Athens, GA; aunt and uncle, Marilyn and Kenneth Alexander; cousins Julie and James Collins; cousins Amber and Aaron Alexander; and Alexandra, Spencer, Clayton, and Jared Collins, all of Dunwoody, GA; great aunt and uncle, Virginia and D. Richard Mead Jr. of Coral Gables, Florida; cousins Mary Catherine Mead Hamill and Stanley Budge Mead, a number of additional aunts, uncles, and cousins, and his faithful golden retriever, Dexter.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Ian Hodson Scholarship Fund at the Athens Technical College Foundation, 800 U.S. Highway 29 North, Athens, GA 30601. The scholarship will aid Nursing students who are committed to working in the neurological nursing field and the treatment of traumatic brain injury.
