Charlotte Flanigen Zartman, age 80, died peacefully on November 7, 2012, in Tucson, Ariz., after a short illness.

Born in Atlanta on May 5, 1932, Charlotte graduated from Murphy High School, in Atlanta, the Julliard School of Music, in New York, and the University of Texas at El Paso. She was a harpist and a member of the Tucson Symphony Orchestra and the El Paso Symphony. She also played with a number of other groups and orchestras in various locations during her life. Throughout her life, she was a teacher of music and an avid gardener. She traveled extensively, enjoying the adventure of going to new places and learning about those places. She moved to Tucson in 2005, and was active with the Opera Guild and the Tucson Symphony.
Charlotte is survived by her children, Louis J. (Lila) Bahin, of Missoula, Mont., and Charlotte M. Bahin, of Alexandria, Va.; and grandsons, Riley and Colin Bahin.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 13, at Oconee Hills Cemetery, in Athens. Father Robert Salamone, of Emmanuel Episcopal Church, will be officiating.
