Clyde Stephenson "Steve" Teasley, age 71, of Gainesville, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.
No services will be held.
Mr. Teasley was born November 28, 1942 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Clyde Alfred Teasley and Essie Mae Andrews Teasley. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia, Henry W. Grady School of Journalism. Steve was a former managing editor and sports editor for The Athens Banner Herald and Athens Daily News. He worked as a journalist and writer during a long career at the Athens Newspaper, Marietta Daily News, Neighbor Newspapers, Decatur-Dekalb News and in Washington DC at the U.S. Department of Commerce and U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Mr. Teasley is survived by his daughter & son-in-law, Stephanie & Troy Meek of Clermont, daughter, Kelly Teasley of Atlanta, three grandchildren, Wesley Meek, Jack Meek and Ali Meek, all of Clermont, and his brother, Danny Teasley of Jefferson.
