BLICKENSTAFF KINSEL, Keri, 29, of Georgia, passed away April 26, 2014. Keri grew up in the Tampa Bay Area and was a 2003 graduate of Bloomingdale High School. She moved to Athens, Georgia in 2008 for graduate school, where she met and married her husband, Carl. She received a Bachelor's degree in Music from Florida Southern College (2008); Master's degree in Musicology from the University of Georgia (2010); was a Ph.D. candidate in Musicology at the University of Georgia. Keri was an accomplished violinist, winning awards at both the county and state levels. She was a scholar specializing in Russian and Soviet music. She was predeceased by her paternal grandmother, Shirley Blickenstaff. She is survived by her husband, Carl Kinsel; stepdaughters, Emma and Olivia Kinsel; parents, Dan and Valerie Blickenstaff; sister, Holly Blickenstaff; maternal grandparents, George and Pat Bowman; paternal grandfather, Bob Blickenstaff; extended family and friends. A memorial service will take place Thursday, May 8th in the Day Chapel at The State Botanical Gardens of Georgia in Athens. The service will be held from 12:00-4:00 p.m. Flowers will be accepted at the offices of The State Botanical Gardens, care of Shene Stroud.
