Elizabeth Bullock Dean passed away peacefully on December 4, 2017 at St. Mary's Hospice House.

She was born February 27, 1928 in Madison County, daughter of the late Hershel Rudolph and Eulla Mae Bullock. She was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Dean of Athens and her son, George W. Dean Jr.

She is survived by her children, Valerie Dean DeVore (Ted) and Wayne Dean (Fran); grandchildren, Monica DeVore Elrod (Travis), Wayne Dean Jr. (Kelli) and Travis Dean (Stephanie); great-grandchildren, McKenzie Elrod, Sydney Elrod, Avery Dean and Kendal Dean. She is also survived by her loving sister, Lois Potts.

Elizabeth Dean was a member of the Rose and Dahlia Garden Club and the First United Methodist Church.

A memorial service celebrating her life will be held privately with her family.

The family wishes a very special thanks to all the kind people who cared for her, including Krystal and Wally, her Thrive family, the caregivers at Home Instead and the nursing staff at St. Mary's Hospice House.
