George Washington Payne died November 3, 2012.
A native of Athens, he was a son of the late Ralph and Edna Payne and the widower of Gayzelle Smith Payne. He was a painter, farmer and a veteran of the United States Army.
Funeral services will be Monday, November 5, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Corinth Baptist Church. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Survivors include daughter and son in law, Tracy and Johnny Rogers and daughter Gail Allen; sister, Eleanor Barefoot; six grandchildren, Jonathan Rogers, Paige Rogers, Steve Allen, Sheila Briggs, Remington Bowling and Van Bowling.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 240 Belmont Road, Arnoldsville, Ga 30619.
