Gretel Berryman Jakubowicz Cronic, 101, born March 30, 1915 in Arnoldsville, GA and passed away Monday, January 9, 2017 in Athens, GA.

Mrs. Cronic served during World War II in the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps in 1943 and the U.S. Navy from 1944-1945. She was preceded in death by parents, G.M. and Neily Barber Berryman; husbands, Peter Jakubowicz, to whom she was married from 1957-1992 and George W. Cronic, to whom she was married from 1993-2012; brothers, Ferald, Junious, Coke, Ray and Ed Berryman; sisters, Margaret Hansford, Louise Pritchett, Darlene Anderson and Bobbie Jean Burroughs.

Survivors include son, Michael Jakubowicz (Angie); stepchildren, Danny Cronic (Anne), Phil Cronic (Lynn) and Mark Cronic (Jodi); sister, Peggy Berryman; beloved cousin, Betty Robertson and nephew, Ronny Berryman; nine step-grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, January 12 at 1 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Park.
