The Rev. Keith Thompson Johnson, age 53, of Athens, transitioned on September 8, 2012.
The Rev. Johnson was a loving son, father, brother, friend, advocate, and companion. His mission for civil justice and devotion to equal rights became his quest for empowering the poor and the underserved in the community.
Survivors include his parents, John and Lacy Johnson; daughter, Autumn Johnson; brother, Russell (Linda) Johnson; grandmother, Queen V. Adams; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his special friend & companion, Gwendolyn Booker.
Viewing is scheduled for 1-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 13, at the funeral home, with family visitation 6-7:30 p.m.
Funeral services for the Rev. Johnson will be held at 12 p.m. on Friday, September 14, at Ebenezer Baptist Church West, with interment in the East Lawn Memorial Cemetery.
