Rita Bernardi Cobosco, 94, formerly of Athens, GA, died Wednesday, January 4, 2017 in Boca Raton, FL, where she had resided for the past six years.
A native of Williamsport, PA, Mrs. Cobosco was a daughter of the late Michael and Esther Bernardi. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cobosco was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Cobosco; her sister, Dorothy Freshwater of Springfield, VA and brother, Michael Bernardi of Williamsport, PA.
She was a member of St. Mary's Hospital Auxiliary and an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She enjoyed her many Bridge clubs and was a veteran of the U.S. Waves of World War II.
She was a devoted mother and loving grandmother.
Survivors include daughters, Karen Crim of Boca Raton, FL and Wendy Dasher (Charles) of Cary, NC; son, David Cobosco of Billerica, MA; grandchildren, Melanie Crim (Andy Francis), Jason Crim, Alarie Sechler, Cameron Sechler, Kyle Fogel, and Nicholas Cobosco; and great-granddaughter, Estella Francis
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 14 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel at St. Joseph Catholic School with Father Paul Moreaux officiating. Entombment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Bernstein Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph Catholic Church Building Fund, 958 Epps Bridge Parkway, Athens, GA 30606.
