Athens - Robert Franklin Adams, Sr., 72, of Epps Bridge Parkway, passed away on September 6, 2006.

A native of Hamilton Co., Tennessee, Mr. Adams was the son of the late Howard Franklin and Inez Riley Adams. His wife, Charlotte Wardlaw Adams, preceded him in death. Mr. Adams, a retired engineer, was a member of the American Standard Testing Materials Association and the St. James United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir. With his tenor voice he was asked to sing in area churches and for other events. Mr. Adams was also an avid fisherman.
Survivors include sons Robert F. Adams, Jr. and wife Rose of Athens and Jeffery M. Adams and wife Barb of Cincinnati; daughter Carla Marie Martin and husband Brian of Athens; brother William Edward (Buddy) Adams of Cleveland, TN; grandchildren Justin Adams, Elizabeth Martin, Ryan Adams, and Skylar Adams and a number of nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 12, 2006 at St. James United Methodist Church with Rev. Bill Emmerson officiating. The family will receive friends at Bernstein on Monday evening from 7-9 p.m.
