James Wilburn Huddleston Sr. passed away on Sunday, October 7, 2012.
Born in Atlanta on September 1, 1923, he was the son of the late Teasley Haygood Huddleston and Hettie Battle Huddleston. He was also preceded in death by a brother, William Frederick Huddleston.
Mr. Huddleston was a graduate of the Boys High School, in Atlanta, and the University of Georgia, and attended Tulane School of Medicine. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was with Pfizer Drug Corporation as a sales representative for over 36 years. He was also a member of the Athens First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Mary Webb Bradbury Huddleston, of Athens; son, James Wilburn Huddleston Jr. and his wife, Anne; daughters, Carol Lydia Huddleston Bennett and her husband, Charles, Susan Battle Huddleston Cox and her husband, Joseph, Claire Huddleston McClure and her husband, W. Keith, and Mary Webb Howell; eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, October 9, at Bernstein.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, October 10, at the chapel of Bernstein Funeral Home, with the Rev. Martha Aenchbacher officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be C. Stacy Bennett Jr., Joseph H. Cox III, Jamie C. Bennett, William Bradbury Cox, W. Keith McClure Jr., and Joseph H. Cox Jr.
