Virginia C. White, 88, formerly of Athens, passed away on Monday, March 10, 2014, in Stockbridge where she was residing.

A native of Moundville, Ala., Mrs. White was the daughter of the late Andrew Rufus Coley and Lottis Jane Bibby Coley, and was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph A White. She was a volunteer at Athens Regional Medical Center and a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Athens.
Survivors include her sons, Larry R. White, and wife, Louise, of Johnson City, Tenn., and Robert C. White, and wife, Laura, of McDonough; grandchildren, James C. (Sissy) White, Amanda White (John) Charlton, and Robert A. White; and great-grandchildren, Isaac, Ansley, and Emma Charlton, and Campbell, Durham, and Garrett White.
Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 13, at the First Presbyterian Church of Athens, with Dr. Glenn Doak officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the Atrium of the church at 1:30 p.m. prior to the service.
