Paula Ann Elrod Spivey, GSM, age 50, of Fayetteville, N.C., passed away on Monday, March 24, 2014. She went home to be with her Lord and savior after having battled cancer for a year.

Paula was born in Madison County, Ga., on November 13, 1963, to Hershal Elrod and Shirley Davis. She graduated from Madison County High School in 1982 and was a military spouse for over 20 years.
After becoming a Gold Star Mother in 2005, Paula dedicated her life to helping veterans, wounded warriors, and their families, with other members of Rolling Thunder Chapter 1 and the American Gold Star Mothers -- Dogwood Chapter of Fayetteville, N.C. She loved working with these organizations to make the community a better place. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and loved her.
Paula was preceded in death by her son, Specialist Michael K. Spivey, who died on April 6, 2005.
She is survived by her daughter, Kelly Spivey Stinson; grandchildren, Tristan Coulter and Kayden Stinson, of Fayetteville, N.C.; parents, Hershal Elrod, of Colbert, and Shirley Davis, of Statham; brothers, Steve Elrod, of Charleston, S.C., and William Elrod, of Statham; sister, Sherry Carlisle, of Royston; and fiancé, Jimmie J. Moskwa, of Fayetteville, N.C.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, March 28, at Epicenter Church, in Fayetteville, N.C.
