Lindsey Franklin Burger, 85, of Athens, GA passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2014.
A native of Griffin, GA, Mr. Burger was the son of the late Neal and Janie Lucille Mullins Burger and was preceded in death by brother, Neal Burger and sisters, Hilda Askew, Louise Whitehead, and Betty Michael Rice. He was a retired supervisor with the State Board of Pardons and Paroles, a member of Whitehead Athens Civitan Club, and an active member of Oconee Heights Baptist Church.
Survivors include wife, Martha Burger of Athens; son, Michael Burger of Athens; grandson, Jason Kyle Burger; granddaughter, Kelly Burger Litvin and husband, Thomas; great-grandchildren, Bo Burger, Carson Litvin, and Emma Kate Burger, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2PM Saturday, August 23rd in the chapel at Bernstein Funeral Home with Rev. Rob Bailey and Rev. Crist Camden officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1-2PM prior to the service.
Jason Burger, Bo Burger, James Mullins, Randy Michael, Thomas Litvin, and Carl Boneri will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Oconee Heights Baptist Church Building Fund, 4180 Jefferson Rd, Athens, GA 30607.
