Watkinsville - Mrs. Geneva Anderson, 87, of S. Main St., Watkinsville, Ga., died Thursday, Aug. 20, 2009, at Athens Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Anderson was the only daughter to the late Thomas Edward and Annie Lou Shelnutt Fitzpatrick.
She was very active in women's and civic organizations. She served as President of Athens Business Girls, was active in Altruesa Club and was a charter member and president for Oconee County Pilot Club. She was a very active member of Watkinsville First Christian Church, where she was involved in district and state activities, and was a member of Oconee County Chamber of Commerce. Mrs. Anderson was employed for Rosenthal Shoe Store for a number of years and many will remember her as "Andy." She opened her own store and is well known in Watkinsville for many years of friendship as the owner of O'Joy Shoes.
Mrs. Anderson was preceded in death by her husband, James Taylor Anderson. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Al Mann of Watkinsville; son, Eddie Anderson of Canton; grandchildren, Jennifer O'Joy Mann, Art Mann, Sean Anderson, Alesha Anderson Nystuen and Kris Anderson; and great-grandchildren, Alex Westerlund, Chandler Mann, Anslie Mann and Anna Mann.
Funeral services will be Sunday, August 23, 2009, at 4 p.m. at Lord and Stephens Chapel, West, with Rev. Doug Ivey officiating. Interment will be at Watkinsville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m.
