Edna Ward Wilcher, age 86, of Toccoa, passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2013.

A native of Macon, Mrs. Wilcher was born on August 24, 1926, to the late Dan and Eunice Ward, and was also preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Wilcher.
Mrs. Wilcher was a graduate of Miller High School and the Wesleyan Conservatory of Music, in Macon. She was head pianist for one of the top choral groups at Wesleyan. Music was always her first love, and she loved praising God with her music. She was organist at the First Baptist Church, in Hazelhurst, for 7 years, and then served as organist at Beech Haven Baptist Church, in Athens, for 34 years.
Survivors include her daughters, Jenny Smith, and her husband, Alfred, of Hazelhurst, and Terrie Stephens, and her husband, Allan, of Millbrook, Ala.; sons, Danny Wilcher, of Winder, and Scott Wilcher, of Toccoa, with whom she resided; six grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, February 5, at Bernstein.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 6, at Beech Haven Baptist Church, with the Revs. Curtis Murdock and Ron Hatchett officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Allan Stephens, Alfred Smith, Greg Bennett, Thomas Bennett, Tyler Wilcher, and Guy Johnson.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Amedisys Hospice of Toccoa, 53 Rock Dr., Toccoa, GA 30577.
