James Wallace Dudley Jr, 70, of Athens, GA passed away Monday, December 2, 2013.
A native of Athens, GA, Mr. Dudley was the son of the late James Wallace Dudley and Eleanore Farrar Dudley. He attended Baylor School for Boys in Chattanooga, TN and the University of Georgia where he was a member of the SAE Fraternity. Mr. Dudley served in the United States Army and was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his brother, Randy Dudley and wife, Mary of Athens; sister, Tere Lewis and husband, Gene of Athens; nieces and nephews, Amy Parrish (Scott), Randolph Dudley, and Hatton Dudley (Amy), and great-nieces and nephews, Lilly Claire Dudley, Maxwell Chase Dudley, and Harper Parrish.
Graveside services will be held 11AM Thursday, December 5th at Oconee Hill Cemetery with Dr. Glenn Doak officiating. A reception will follow the service at the Sexton House.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to First Presbyterian Church, 185 E. Hancock Ave, Athens, GA 30601 or the Y.M.C.A., 915 Hawthorne Ave, Athens, GA 30606.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to his caregiver, Regina Smith and to the nurses at Athens Heritage and St. Mary's Hospice House.
