Milton Bates Obituary

Milton Correll Bates Jr., 47, of Danielsville and formerly of Detroit, Mich., passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2014.
Milton was the son of Milton C. Bates Sr. and Gail Heard Bates. He was an auto parts store manager and has previously worked for Murray's Auto Parts. He also served in the U.S. Navy and was a Mason in Lincoln Lodge #62.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his son, Jherrion C. Bates, of Danielsville; daughter, Ashá D. Mathis, of Athens; and sisters, Patricia Davis, of Houston, Texas, and Danielle Bates, of Athens.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 17, at Tabors Chapel C.M.E. Church, with interment in the church cemetery.
Gardenview Funeral Chapel, Athens, is in charge of the arrangements.
