The Guest Book is expired.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 18, 2012, at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, with Rev. Jerry Devinney officiating.
Born in Chester, Mrs. Grayson was the daughter of the late George Edward Carter and the late Adeline Ford Carter. She was the widow of Larry L. Grayson, her loving husband of 45 years.
Larry and "Billie" met in Charlotte in the early '40s. They married just after Larry's release from the Army after WWII. After they married they moved to Fort Lauderdale, Fla. and purchased a home in the Rio Vista area.
Soon after their arrival Larry and Billie purchased Max's Ladies Wear on Andrews Ave. Not long after that they opened Carol Carter Woman's Apparel Shop on 1st Ave. in downtown Fort Lauderdale.
They also opened a small shop in The Old Lauderdale Beach Hotel, where Mrs. Grayson held many memorable fashion shows. Their dress shops were considered the most fashionable in Fort Lauderdale through the years.
Eventually they moved the Carol Carter stores to Las Olas Blvd. and Galt Ocean Mile.
She and Mr. Grayson retired in the early '80s after a very successful business run in women's apparel.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her grandparents who raised her, William G. Ford and Sally Owens Ford.
Surviving are her son, Tim C. Grayson of Rock Hill; and several cousins loving friends in Fort Lauderdale, Sebring and Atlanta.
The family will receive friends following the service.
