Mrs. Grace Wages Ferguson Lindsay, 85, died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2018, at her residence.
The funeral service will be 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, 2018, at Harmony Baptist Church with the Rev. Patrick Roddey and the Rev. Woody Oliver officiating. The interment will follow at Chester Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2018, at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie St., Chester.
Born Feb. 26, 1933, in Chester County, Mrs. Lindsay was the daughter of the late Charles Eugene and Mary Henry Wages. She was a graduate of Lewisville High School and was retired from Founders Federal Credit Union. Grace especially enjoyed cooking and gardening. She loved her family and most importantly she loved and served her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Mrs. Lindsay was the widow of Melvin H. Ferguson and Thomas B. Lindsay. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Henry, Shorty and Kenneth Wages.
She is survived by four children, Wayne Ferguson (Bobbie) of Great Falls and Stella F. Wishert, Cathy F. Jones (Joe) and Julie F. Ligon (Joe), all of Chester; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Ann W. Wright of Chester; and one brother, Richard Wages (Kay) of Leslie, S.C.
The family is truly grateful to Kindred Hospice and to her caregivers, Kate O'Neill, Nancy Ford, Debra Brice, Beth Melton and Veleka Mayfield.
