Mrs. Janice Anell Raines Wessinger, 70, beloved mother and grandmother, sister and friend, died Saturday, April 7, 2018, surrounded by family and love at her home.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Matt Horne officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow in Chester Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Wessinger was born Sept. 13, 1947, in Chester and was a daughter of the late Leo Raines and Mollie Dellinger Raines. She was a graduate of Chester High School and Patrick Henry Community College in Martinsville, Va. She was formerly employed with Hamilton Standard and PPG Fiberglass as well as enjoying a myriad of other adventures. Mrs. Wessinger was a member of Epiphany Lutheran Church of Rock Hill.
She is survived by three children, Katherine Teresa Lewis (Timothy) of Charlotte, Mark Jeffrey Phillips (Melissa) of Myrtle Beach and Walter William Wessinger (Sara) of Lancaster; seven grandchildren, Logan, Sean, Ella, Allie, Sophie, Katherine and Krystal; one sister, Eunice Houston of Lancaster; and one brother, Wayne Raines (Brenda) of Chester.
Mrs. Wessinger was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Wessinger; a son, Richard Edward Phillips III; a brother, James S. Raines; and a sister, JoAnn Braswell.
