Mrs. Mabel Estes Kilpatrick, 84, of Fort Lawn, widow of Herman Jasper Kilpatrick, passed away Monday, Oct. 30, 2017, at her home.
She was born Nov. 10, 1932, in Chester, a daughter of the late Lonnie Estes and Pauline Lee Wade Estes. Mrs. Kilpatrick was a member of Fort Lawn Baptist Church.
A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Kilpatrick was held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, 2017, at Fort Lawn Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Ted Hodges and the Rev. Larry Linderman officiating. Burial followed in Elmwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Kilpatrick is survived by a son, Herman Jasper "Jay" Kilpatrick Jr. of Fort Lawn; a daughter, Janet K.D. Montgomery and her husband Robert of Richburg; a sister, Louise Williams and her husband Woodrow of Lancaster; two grandchildren, William D. Drennan and Jennifer D. Crowder and her husband W. Randolph; and four great-grandchildren, William R. Crowder Jr., Cayce W. Crowder, Abram M. Crowder and Claire E. Crowder.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Roy William Estes.
