Mr. George W. Banks, 75, died Friday, Dec. 6, 2013, at his residence.
The funeral was held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, at Leeds Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Black officiating. The interment was in the church cemetery.
Born Feb. 22, 1938, in Taylor, N.Y., Mr. Banks was the son of the late Leo Banks and Arlene Ford Banks Daily. He attended the school of Cincinnatus Central High School in Cincinnatus, N.Y. He was the owner and operator of George Banks Trucking. He was a member of Otselic Masonic Lodge, Otselic, N.Y. and a member of Leeds Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Campbell Banks of Canandaigua, N.Y. and beloved friend Karen Walker of Chester; four daughters, Brenda Chaffee and Karen Dewitt (Lee), all of Homer, N.Y., Sue Ellen Smith (Travis) of Arnett, Okla. and Kimberly Zacharias (David) of Canandaigua, N.Y.; two sons, Todd Banks and Martin Sharp of Homer, N.Y.; twelve grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Donalou Law of Cincinatus, N.Y.
