Jolene Marie Jo Prax Hensley-Kimsey(1968 - 2012)

Jolene "Jo" Marie (Prax) Hensley-Kimsey, 44, of Pacific Junction, died Dec. 30, 2012, surrounded by her family at the Hospice With Heart facility in Glenwood. A Celebration of Life service was held Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at Peterson Mortuary in Glenwood. Eldon Prax officiated. Interment will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family.
Jo was born Oct. 11, 1968, in Omaha, Neb. She was raised in Pacific Junction and graduated from Glenwood High School in 1987. She earned her associate degree from Iowa Western. Jo was an accomplished vocalist and won the Outstanding Vocalist Award her senior year in high school. She also participated in speech and drama, but singing was her passion.
Jo was the proud mother of Joshua and Jeremy. She was of the Baptist faith. Jo was previously employed as a deaf interpreter and worked for several agencies as a caregiver for individuals with special needs. She was recently united in marriage on Sept. 1, 2012, in Pacific Junction, to Don Kimsey. Though their time together was brief, they had fun and enjoyed singing karaoke.
Preceding Jo in death were her grandparents. She is survived by her husband, Don Kimsey of Pacific Junction; sons, Joshua Cooper of Council Bluffs; Jeremy Hensley of Glenwood: mother, Betty Jo Prax of Pacific Junction: brother, Eldon and wife Kim Prax and their children of Haslet, Texas; sister, Christine and husband Jeff Christensen and their sons of Buckeye, Ariz.; extended relatives and many friends.
