Martha Lea (Barclay) Fasnacht(1925 - 2013)

Martha Lea (Barclay) Fasnacht, 88, of Glenwood, died Aug. 1, 2013, at Glen Haven Home in Glenwood. Funeral services were Monday, Aug. 5, 2013, at First Christian Church in Glenwood. Rev. Evan Welcher and Rev. Darrell Hopp officiated. Interment was in the Glenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church or Glen Haven Home. Peterson Mortuary in Glenwood was in charge of arrangements.
Martha was born April 22, 1925, in Springfield, Mo., to Erna and Audrey (Smith) Barclay. Martha was raised in Springfield, graduating from Springfield High School in 1942. She was married June 6, 1943, to Wayne Vernell Fasnacht in Springfield. To this union three children were born, Karen Sue, Dennis Wayne and Rebecca Anne.
Martha was a member of the First Christian Church in Glenwood. She was formerly employed as a receptionist for the Glenwood Resource Center, a medical clerk for Dr. Robert K. Fryzek and Jennie Edmundson Hospital and was a wonderful homemaker. She volunteered at the Glenwood Public Library and Glen Haven Home. At one time, she was a sample distributor in a grocery store. She was outgoing and loved traveling with Wayne on many Heritage trips. The couple could be seen nearly each day sitting together on their front porch swing holding hands. They were blessed with 70 years of marriage.
Preceding Martha in death were her parents; four brothers, Paul, Alan, Wayne and Olan Barclay and sister, Nina Beatie; and brothers-in-law Virgil and Everett Fasnacht. Survivors include her loving husband, Wayne Fasnacht of Glenwood; children, Karen Sue and husband Kenneth McCullough of Albuquerque, N.M.; Dennis Wayne Fasnacht and wife Susan Putman of Capitola, Calif.; Rebecca Anne and husband William Pugsley of Glenwood; two grandchildren, Susan and husband George Dallam and their son George of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Kenneth McCullough, Jr. and wife Anais Chakerian and their daughters, Vivien and Audrey of Albuquerque; three step-grandchildren, Karen and Paul Schack of Lincoln, Neb. and their sons, Paul, Peter and Carl; Charles and Renee Pugsley of Columbia, Mo. and children Rejhaun and Austin Poole and their son Landon; Colleen and Brandon Nichols and their daughter Julia; Joshua and Delilah Pugsley of Columbia; Andrea and Kale Riley of Lincoln; and their children Kea, William, Elijah, Tessa and Eva; siblings, Harold Barclay of Springfield; Shirley Rust of Marshfield, Mo.; Glenn and Carol Barclay of Springfield; sisters-in-law, Liane Barclay, Lorene Barclay, Carol Barclay, Opal Barclay and Nan Fasnacht; nieces, nephews, extended relatives and many friends.
