Terry Lee Roberts, 66, of Harrison, Ark., formerly of Silver City, died Saturday, March 9, 2013, in his home in Harrison, following a bout of cancer.
Terry was one of four children of Leona Helen (Hansen) and Lester Fay Roberts, and was born July 31, 1946, in Glenwood. He grew up in Silver City and attended school in Silver City until the ninth grade, then finished school in Glenwood.
Terry served in the Army from August 1963 - August 1966. While in the Army, Terry served in company A, 3rd S&T BN in Germany. He attained the rank of Sergeant E-5. After returning from Germany Terry married Beth (Carlson) Roberts in May 1968 and they had two children, Todd Lee Roberts and Christina Lee (Roberts) Shere. Terry then married Marjorie Lynn (Williams) Roberts in 1995 and had one child, Travis Lee Roberts.
Terry went to work for Vickers Inc. in Omaha, Neb., and started just sweeping floors and retired 27 years later as quality control manager. Terry then bought and ran TR's Place in Silver City with his mother in the kitchen and wife, Beth and daughter, Tina helping out front for three years. Terry then moved to Harrison in 1995 with his wife Marjorie and son Travis. He worked for and became partner in a local pest control company and finished out his life as a bus driver for Harrison School District. Terry loved to hunt and golf and cherished his time with his grandkids, who would visit him for weeks in the summer.
Terry was preceded in death by his father, Lester Fay Roberts; mother Leona Helen (Hansen) Roberts and grandson Alexander Lee Roberts. He is survived by his wife Marjorie Roberts of Harrison; son Todd Roberts and wife Brandi of Glenwood; daughter, Christina Shere and husband Doug of Malvern; son Travis and wife Amanda of Conway Ark.; seven grandchildren and seven step-grandchildren; brother, Jerry Roberts and wife Susan of Council Bluffs; sister Judy Gough and husband Allen of Perry; and brother Jim Roberts and wife Dixie of Council Bluffs.
