Carolyn Sue Dove Crawford of died Aug. 11, 2017. A private memorial service will follow at a future date.
Carolyn was married to Dr. A.E. "Rusty" Crawford for 55 years. They had resided in Glenwood since 1993.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings. She is survived by her husband, sons Craig Crawford of Chicago, Dan Crawford of Iowa City, their wives Lisa, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and students.
Carolyn served as a secretary in the Registrar's Office at the University of Nebraska-Omaha for 26 years, retiring in 2003. She taught music in the Wichita, Kan. public schools. She played as principle and second flute in the Wichita Symphony for several years and taught flute at the College of St. Mary's in Omaha for 20 years. Carolyn played in several summer theater events and AFM Union "gigs" for many years. She was a member of the Glenwood Community Band, the Omaha Intergenerational Orchestra and the Heartland Flute Choir.
Carolyn's body was donated to science. While death was the result of Alzheimer's, donations in lieu of flowers should go to the Heartland Community Flute Choir (University of Nebraska-Omaha, Dr. Beard).
