Chester Gene "Brownie" Sellers, 86, of Glenwood, died April 15, 2013, in Glenwood. Celebration of Life services were Saturday, April 27, 2013, at Peterson Mortuary in Glenwood. Interment and military rites were held in the Glenwood Cemetery following the service. Memorials may be made to the Hospice With Heart, First Christian Church or Glenwood Senior Center.

Chet was born June 11, 1926, to Melvin and Letha (Harvey) Sellers. He faithfully served his country during World War II in the Army. He married Melva Nadine Hiley on Nov. 2, 1946, in Hiawatha, Kan. To this union four children were born, Virginia, Lois, Leonard and Lou Anne. Chet farmed, worked for the packing plant and later for Unitog, until his retirement. In his spare time, he was a talented woodworker. He made each of his granddaughters a hope chest and did several projects for numerous customers. Chet always enjoyed visiting and spending time with his family and friends.
Preceding Chet in death were his parents, daughter, Lois Sapp, two sisters and four brothers. Chet is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Melva Sellers of Glenwood; and children, Virginia and husband Gene Sheets of Glenwood; Leonard and wife Jenny Sellers of Fremont, Neb.; and Lou Anne and husband Ben Hastings of Glenwood; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; brothers, James and wife Susie Sellers of Oskaloosa; Larry and wife Kathy Sellers of Cedar Rapids: sisters, Dorothy Pugh of Oskaloosa: Ann and husband Jim Dale of Weaver: several nieces, nephews, extended relatives and many friends.
