Donald D. Williams, 72, of Pacific Junction, died May 28, 2013, at his home. Funeral services were Saturday, June 1, 2013, at the Loess Hills Funeral Home in Glenwood with burial at the Martin Chapel Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Martin Chapel Cemetery Association.

Don was one of two sons of Alice Darlene (Richardson) and Frank Evert Williams, born Oct. 20, 1940, in Bethlehem, Iowa. He grew up in Pacific Junction and graduated from Pacific Junction High School. Don served in the Army National Guard. His working career began with the railroad, then the state of Iowa, which lead to his ultimate career with the Army Corp of Engineers. Don did a great deal of traveling for the Corp, which took him to Honduras in Central America, Mount St. Helens in Washington State, and several other locations, but his favorite was Alabama. He lived in Illinois, Kansas, Mississippi, Alabama and Iowa before his retirement in 1995.
Don and Diana Lynn Anderson were married May 29, 1965, in Glenwood. They were blessed with three daughters, Janet Jean, Janice Joan and Jacqueline Jane.
Don and Marcia Wayne (Hopkinson) Scott were married Aug. 31, 1985, in Pacific Junction, where they made their home. Don's family grew to include Marcia's sons, Geoff, Greg, Chris and Nick.
Don was a past member of the Glenwood Golf Course, Mason, Shriners and Eagles. He and Marcia enjoyed traveling to England, Canada and Hawaii, as well as many other states within the US. Don enjoyed golfing, fishing, gardening and finding those elusive morel mushrooms. He also loved to play cards with the guys, especially pinochle and poker, and spending time with his family and friends.
Don and Marcia were married 22 years when Marcia died in Glenwood Nov. 15, 2007. He was also preceded in death by his parents and wife Diana Failla.
Don is survived by his daughters, Janet (Johnny) Rone of Jackson, Ala.; Janice "Jo" (Danny) Fultz, and Jackie (Martin) Richter, all of Glenwood; stepsons, Geoff Scott of Maryville, Mo.; Greg (Roberta) Scott of Glenwood; Chris Scott of Silver City; and Nick Scott of Randolph; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother Gary (Phyllis) Williams of Pacific Junction; nieces and nephews; extended relatives; and the many, many friends he had made throughout his life.
