Juanita Mary (Carr) Sanders, 89, Glenwood, died April 4, 2014, at the Hospice With Heart in Glenwood. Visitation and services were Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at Peterson Mortuary in Glenwood with Chaplain Mike York officiating. Interment was in the East Liberty Cemetery, rural Malvern. Juanita was born Oct. 27, 1924, in Glenwood, to Karl and Mary Winnaford (Seaton) Carr. Juanita was raised on the farm and lost her mother when she was young. She began helping her father care for her younger siblings and assisting with the chores. While maintaining her household duties, she attended Tabor Consolidated Schools graduating with the Class of 1942.
Juanita married Wiley Wesley Sanders on Jan. 11, 1946, in Glenwood. To this union two sons were born, John and James. Juanita was a previous member of O.D.O. Club. She enjoyed gardening, canning, freezing, cooking and especially loved her family.
Preceding Juanita in death were her parents, husband, two brothers, Walter Carr, Warren Carr and son, James Sanders. Survivors include her son John and wife Sarah Jo Sanders, Glenwood; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Wils and wife Jennie Carr, Glenwood; Ward and wife Bonnie Carr, Texas; daughter-in-law, Vicki Sanders, Omaha, Neb.: sister-in-law, Myrna Carr, Sioux City; nieces, nephews, extended relatives and many friends.
