Muriel Rhoden, 95, died peacefully in her Glenwood home, Aug. 17, 2014. Muriel requested her body be donated to the Nebraska Medical Center for medical education and scientific study with no visitation or services. Peterson Mortuary of Glenwood assisted with the arrangements.

Muriel was born Nov. 18, 1918, to Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Gump in Nebraska City, Neb. During and after World War II, Muriel's parents, brothers and sisters moved to the state of Oregon.
Muriel married Don Rhoden Aug. 23, 1942. Soon after Don was discharged from the U.S. Air Force they settled in Glenwood, with their son Rodney.
Preceding Muriel in death were her parents, husband Don, three sisters and two brothers. Survivors include son, Rodney (Sharon); numerous nieces, nephews and her many compassionate caregivers the last eight years of her life.
