Nate was born Aug. 26, 1980, to Doug and Pat Thompson in Warrensburg, Mo. After a successful high school wrestling career, Nate entered the Iowa National Guard. He moved to Arizona and transferred to the guard unit there where he was called to active duty for base security. While there, he married Kristen. After he completed his guard requirement, he joined the active duty Army and served two tours in Iraq with Blackhawk helicopters. He was currently serving as a recruiter in Pomona.
Nathan's priorities were his children, his church, the Army and helping others. His last act of helping others was as an organ donor. Therefore, in lieu of flowers the family will contribute memorial money to funds to benefit children, and an Army fund to help serve other soldiers and organ donation.
Preceding Nathan in death was his son, Davis Eric Thompson and his grandfather, DeLoye Thompson. He is survived by Kristen, children, Caiden and Dayvani; parents, Doug and Pat Thompson of Glenwood; brother, Brian Thompson; sister, Tiffany Merritt; grandparents, Beula Thompson; Milo and Virginia Rehak; extended relatives and many friends.
