Susan Martha Hastie, age 58, entered into eternal life sometime just before Jan. 9, 2018. Susan was born in Omaha on March 18, 1959, to Charlotte and Neil Armstrong. Susan was a resident of Omaha, Nodaway and Tabor, as well as Alton, Mo. where she was most recently residing. She was married to John Hastie for many years and was a mother to three children; Mary Hastie, Cheryl Hastie Bailey and Martin Hastie.
Throughout her life Susan loved spending time with family and friends, her many pets, doing craft projects, listening to music, traveling and especially being a mother and grandmother. She spent much of her adult life working at several Care Centers caring for the elderly which she loved very much. She had a very kind and compassionate heart and a great sense of humor, and fun spirit.
Six years ago Susan was baptized and became a member of the Baptist Church in Alton, Mo.. She had a strong faith in her last years and was committed to prayer, reading the Bible and a love for listening to Gospel music.
She is survived by her mother Charlotte Armstrong, brothers Stanley and Steve Armstrong, children; Mary Hastie of Dubuque, Martin Hastie of Glenwood, and Cheryl Hastie Bailey and son-in-law Nick Bailey of Missouri Valley, grandchildren; Wyatt, Angelina, Luke and Jessalyn Bailey; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral and burial were held at Waubonsie Bible Church outside of Tabor on Sunday, Jan. 21.
