Wanda Jeanette (Boquette) Young-Wynn, 83 of Pacific Junction, passed away on Oct. 25, 2018, in Glenwood. She was born on Dec. 20, 1934, in Creston to Howard Lynn and Lola Vesta (Patton) Boquette.
Wanda resided in Weatherford, Okla. before moving to Pacific Junction where she graduated from high school in 1952. She attended nursing school at Iowa Western earning her L.P.N. license. She was employed at the Glenwood State Hospital School, where she was a charge nurse on Lacy 2W. She loved working in the nursery and taking care of the babies. She later went to work at the V.A. Hospital and then On With Life until her retirement. Wanda played an instrumental part in the Pacific Junction Alumni Association and Historical Society. She spent her summers at the cabin in Minnesota and enjoyed countless sunrises, sunsets and listening to the loons. Minnesota was filled with endless hours of fishing and making memories with family and friends. If the boat was on the lake, chances are she was in it with her line in the water. Wanda loved her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Preceding Wanda in passing were her parents, brother John and sister Hartha. Survivors include her children Sherry (Charles) Schraer of Columbus, Neb.; Randy (Vicki) Young of Bethany, Okla.; Andy (Polly) Young of Pacific Junction; Kevin (Judy) Young of Colorado Springs, Colo.; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; six great-great- grandchildren; extended relatives and friends.
Open Visitation is at Peterson Mortuary.
Services are Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. Peterson Mortuary.
Interment, will be in the Glenwood Cemetery.
Following interment, a reception is being held at the Pacific Junction Senior Center (the Old Methodist Church.)
A memorial fund has been established.
