Wayne R. Long, 81, of Treynor, died March 7, 2014, in Council Bluffs. Funeral services are Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel in Council Bluffs. Interment will be in Macedonia Cemetery, with military rites by Treynor American Legion Post 725. The family will direct memorials.

Wayne was born Aug. 30, 1932, in Treynor and lived in the same home his entire life. He was the son of the late E.R. Dick and Gladys Mott Long. Wayne graduated from Treynor High and served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Wayne was a farmer and mowed the Zion Cemetery for more than 45 years.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 57 years, Martha; daughter Colleen Baxter and husband Douglas of Council Bluffs; son Tim Long and wife Carol of Jackson, Minn.; grandchildren, Malerie, Brent and Shelby Bockert; Zachary Long; Chelsea, and Ryan Brighton; Paige and Jessie Baxter.
