Vivian Larene Sell, 94, of Springdale, Ark., formerly of the Bethesda area, died Friday, April 12, 2013, at the Walnut Grove Nursing & Rehab Center, Springdale. Funeral services will be Thursday, April 18, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home, Red Oak. Visitation with the family present on Wednesday from 6 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the East Liberty Cemetery, northwest of Malvern. Memorials are suggested to the East Liberty Cemetery Association.
Vivian, the daughter of Clarence E. and Mary L. (Meyer) Davis was born June 1, 1918, in Bennet, Neb. Vivian was raised in Bennet and graduated in 1935 from Bennet High School. She attended cosmetology school in Nebraska City, Neb. and was proud of becoming a beautician in Nebraska City. On March 1, 1939, Vivian was married to Russell N. Sell in Glenwood. They made their home in Percival, then Randolph, Coin and Red Oak, before settling on their farm, which she lived on for 49 years in the Bethesda area. Vivian loved the farm, its lifestyle, and being a farmer's wife. Her hobbies included gardening, sewing, embroidering, other handwork and baking. In 2001, Vivian moved to Arkansas to be closer to family.
Vivian was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Russell on July 26, 1987; a sister, Emma; three brothers: Clyde, Kenneth and Roy; and two great-grandchildren.
Vivian is survived by four sons: Jim Sell of Verona, Mo.; Steven Sell and wife Paula of Eureka Springs, Ark.; Michael Sell and wife Karen of Bella Vista, Ark.; Patrick Sell and wife Dorene of Story City; 12 grandchildren; and several great- and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Letha Nelsen of Lincoln, Neb.; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
