Charleen June Barber, 78, of Glenwood, died Dec. 24, 2013 in Council Bluffs. A Celebration of Life will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 2 at Peterson Mortuary in Glenwood. Rev. Dean McPherson will preside. Interment will be at a later date.

Charleen was born Jan. 11, 1935 in Hamburg to Charles and Lilly Fay (Scott) Mount. She was united in marriage to Alvin Earl Barber June 6, 1954 in Farragut. To this union three children were born, Cindy, Kenneth and Cheryl.
Charleen was employed as an insurance agent for Hummel Insurance prior to retiring. She enjoyed collecting Barbie dolls, flower gardening, crafts, reading and shopping on ebay. She loved spending time with her family.
Preceding Charleen in death were her parents, daughter Cindy and brother Gary. Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Earl Barber of Glenwood; son Ken and wife Debbie Barber of Council Bluffs; Cheryl Barber of Coquille, Ore.; grandchildren, Nicholas Earl Barber, Zachary Luke Breitkreutz, Keira Breanne Breitkreutz, Cory Crum and Jeanna Steppuhn; extended relatives and many friends.
A memorial fund has been established.
